Women's First (and only) Eight, 1982

Women's First (and only) Eight, 1982

Out of the first 15 women the College Boat Club managed to find enough who were enthusiastic enough to form an Eight. The crew had much success.

“I have kept one of my old rowing vests. It's dark blue with a horizontal white stripe and looks very home-made! I wasn't sporty at school so learning to row with a great bunch of girls with varying degrees of sporting ability was a fantastic experience for me. Being part of a team, taking part in rowing events, and being on the water in all weathers was a highlight of my time at College. I made great friends and continued to row socially for a few years afterwards.”
