Islam in the 9th Century

This map shows the extent of Islam c. 9th century, including its growth from 622 onwards, including under the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates. Note that most of Spain became part of Islam (the Caliphate of Cordoba) but modern-day Turkey remained part of the Byzantine Empire.
